House fire in Lyons

ACT Fire & Rescue on scene at a house fire on Maria Place, Lyons.

Fire is in the roof space. Firefighters currently in roof space accessing the fire by removing metal roof sheeting.

Three fire pumpers on scene along with the Breathing Apparatus van and a Command vehicle.

No neighbouring properties under threat.

Occupants at home safely self evacuated.

Time of Emergency Triple Zero (000) call 6.35pm.

Update to follow.

7:05pm Tuesday 13 December 2011

Fire has been extinguished.

Approx half the roof space has been removed whilst firefighters extinguished the fire.

The duplex two bedroom house is structurally sound with minor damage to roof only.

Cause of fire will be investigated.
