How awesome is Swinger Hill?

Very. Yes we agree.

It appears that there is a forward-thinking, genre-crushing, like-minded, multi-faceted, non-for-prophet, medium-density, conglomeration-of-enthusiasts within the interwebs. Lucky them, they also have their very own friendly grocer in the neighbouring borough of Mawson (aka Swinger Hill’s poor cousin).

FWIW we are very tempted to edit the sections below because we are very keen. That’s just how we roll.

Hooray! It cant be a coincidence that I am studying an interpretive dance night course at the Gordon House Arts Center can it? No. It must be the ley lines, I knew they would honour me one day. Just as the Gods do. Perhaps I have divine power enough to create a Narrabundah appreciation society or NAS? Doesnt have the same ring to it as SHAG I must admit, but considering Narrabundah is a suburb packed full of shambling junkies, axe murders and people who engage in robust conversations with parrots, surely the NAS would be a success? Enough talking, Im launching…

Hi BundahBoy,

Thanks for your comments! You have raised some interesting points that I’m glad are in the public domain.

Here at SHAG we are strong believers in science. At least one half of SHAG would watch MythBusters religiously, if religious fanaticism wasn’t frowned upon by our ilk. Instead, I am forced to watch the said science related content show on a semi-frequent basis.

I’m interested in your comments regarding ley lines. Personally I feel a strange disturbance whenever I pass one of the wooden Swinger Hill signs that mark one of the two entrances to this charming sub-suburb. I had put this feeling down to an overwhelming sense of disappointment (or extreme joyfulness) that I naturally feel whenever I am forced to leave (or return) to the Hill. I’ve recently determined that this feeling is actually shared by all members of SHAG. I wonder if these ley lines to which you refer could somehow be reacting with our psyche, intensifying our connection to the land we call home? Further research is required I think, and perhaps a call to Dr Karl.

You definitely seem SHAG worthy, BundahBoy. We were unprepared for membership inquiries from ex-Swinger Hill residents, as we were under the impression that leaving Swinger Hill is similar to leaving the Mafia. However, if you have a good reason for leaving Swinger Hill, and from the sounds of your post I suspect a falling out with the purple dragon may have contributed, we will open you with open arms. Please prepare an interpretive dance telling your life story in haiku format and present your case to the human statue in Butters Drive. She’ll then tell you what to do.

Alternatively feel free to join up to the SHAG forums.

Dear SHAG,

I lived at 21 English Court for a few years, its the first street on the left after The Verve. I always wanted to live on The Verve for the rumour of its powerful ley lines. Ley lines are alleged alignments of a number of places of geographical interest, such as ancient monuments and megaliths, or Swinger Hill. My mates and I used to get so stoned at 21 English Crt that we were convinced strange things happened on the Hill that science couldnt explain. Not to mention the purple dragon with +12 scale armour that used to sleep behind the power transformer near McMinn Cl. Good times!

Do you offer ex-Swinger Hill residents ‘old boys/girls’ memberships to enjoy your events? The reverse garlic bread baking sounds not to be missed.

Can I point out that you can’t actually reside in Swinger Hill because it’s a geographical feature and not a suburb?

Nice save SHAG

Swinger Hill, like O’Malley before it, is awesome for skirting around the congestion on Hindmarsh Drive westbound of an evening peak.

Hi Thumper,

Thanks so much for expressing your interest in Swinger Hill. We remain committed to our carefully worded thought-piece.

To clarify, the Swinger Hill Appreciation Group is non-for-prophet. In this day and age of intolerance, we like to think that we present a safe haven for all Swinger Hill residents, regardless of your race, colour, creed or religious bent. We even have tolerance (and a lot of pity) for those individuals who live outside Swinger Hill.

To answer your specific question, we are actually pro-Brian. As you may be aware he’s not the messiah, he’s a very naughty boy.
