Diana Hill, Manager, Design and Development, is looking for your thoughts and opinions on the Hughes Shops.

Now I know a few of you Rioters have an opinion or two, and that you nurse a small desire to have those opinions heard. So, if you have something to say about Hughes then here is your chance.

“Members of the community are invited to attend drop-in sessions at the shops on Thursday 8 August and Saturday 10 August 2013. Residents will be able to share their experiences of the Hughes shops and use their local knowledge to help inform an improved design for the refurbishment,” Ms Hill said.

“The proposed upgrade of the Hughes shops will revitalise the area, providing locals and traders with a safer, more accessible and attractive centre. It will consider elements such as community gathering spaces, lighting, bike racks, landscaping and accessibility to the shops.

“I encourage anyone who visits Hughes shops to come along to the drop-in session and provide feedback on the shops. Alternatively, they can complete an online survey available at

www.timetotalk.act.gov.au

“The draft forward design will be displayed for public comment later this year.”

Information about the study including a survey is available at www.timetotalk.act.gov.au
