Yet again, Labor’s broadband promises to Gungahlin are being broken, Liberal Senator Gary Humphries said today.
The NBN’s rollout across Canberra has been dogged by further delays. In addition to the cost blowout of $1.5 billion nationally, Canberra’s access to high speed broadband has been delayed by a further 6 months.
Details released this week reveal the rollout of the NBN in the suburbs of Ngunnawal and Amaroo will be delayed until May 2013, after originally promising to deliver a service in Gungahlin in 2011.“Once again, Canberra residents witness broken promise after broken promise from the Gillard Labor government”, Senator Humphries said.
“This most recent delay in the NBN’s rollout across Canberra reveals the true character of this government and its abysmal mismanagement of major projects.
“I recently called on Senator Lundy to clarify her promises to deliver the NBN in the ACT as a matter of urgency, yet it seems this further 6 month delay has spoken for her.
