The next coin dropped and the screen popped up and she started again until the money ran out, this went on until we hit the $16 mark and she had her top off and removed her fancy masquerade mask and all 8 of us simultaneously let out a gasp od shock loud enough for her to hear……….She was a schoolmate!

At that point we realised that she could also see us quite well (even though we were trying to hide our faces with oour baseball caps.) and she recognised us straight away and took off to the backstage area.

We all stepped out of the booth and went down the back stairs fully realising what had happened and went back to school. The whole way we were paying each other out and one guy actually touched the wall with his jacket and there was a mark left…..he never wore it again.

After a few weeks, that will subside, but you may end up with some thicker skin.

That is such a grotty part of Civic – I sometimes wonder whether TAMS actually pays people to give it a seedy, grimy mini-Kings Cross look, just for the benefit of those who say that Canberra isn’t a real town and doesn’t have a “heart”.
