The Canberra Times has the thrilling news about Ian Kelly, 47, found hiding in the bushes with:

    — a bag full of jewellery
    — 89 convictions for burglary and stolen property
    — a lame story blaming some blokes he didn’t know for filling the bag

Magistrate Peter Morrison thinks 35 months is about right, eligible for parole in 2014.

I think the community would expect that someone with over 70 convictions for this offence should be receiving something pretty close to that maximum sentence…or at least half.

…..x 89 = 1246.

Served consecutively. There is no excuse whatsoever for inflicting this piece of garbage on society ever again.

Mine-clearing in Afghanistan maybe.

Apparently there are some rumours about that he is a descendant of Ned…….surely not!!

so how many other break and enters and steal jobs has he gotten away with that they don’t know about…. ?

89 convictions? not exactly a criminal mastermind then?

Obviously he’s recovered from the debilitating heart attack that was used as an excuse for giving him bail in 2009.

oops – sorry – that’s right – Matthew and Gavin. Either way I’d expect all these bogues would be connected through the criminal underworld somehow….

Michael and Gavin – are they of the equally charming Massey family I wonder….

I think you are thinking of Matthew Massey…

If we can’t lock these people up, can we at least banish them like Goulburn does with their unwanted scum?

Guess he’ll be off to see Terry then.

I bet his fingers are crossed!
