ACT Policing arrested a 23-year-old Oxley man after a search warrant was executed at his home early this morning.

Around 6.30am, members of Specialist Response and Security commenced negotiations with the resident of the house in an attempt to have him safely exit.

The man complied with the request, exiting the house as members of Criminal Investigations executed the warrant.

During the search police located a prohibited firearm, ammunition, stolen property and methamphetamine.

The man has been conveyed to the ACT Watch House and will face the ACT Magistrates Court this afternoon.

I didn’t know you could buy bullets at Aldi. Those Germans have everything!

Clearly only the worst kind of criminals shop at Aldi. Arrest them all!

This is probably off-topic, but on viewing the second picture, I can’t help but recommend that people purchase fitted seat covers for their car, in order to prevent permanent soiling of the existing upholstry. Good quality seat covers will give many years of use at a fraction of the cost of cleaning and/or replacing permanent car upholstry.

Same applies to furniture coverings, especially for pale-coloured furniture as illustrated in the first photo.

Goddamn that looks like a duelling pistol.

Was a gauntlet found in a recently thrown-down condition with check residue indicating it had been used to administer an aggravated face-slapping?

It’s a lever action 22lr that some numpty took to with a hacksaw. One would imagine that it would be awkward to operate, very inaccurate and better employed as a bludgeon.

+1

You’d be very unlucky to be hit from twenty metres with that.

It’d be a bit bloody awkward – the only way it would work would have to be to fire it from the hip. So, even 10metres might be a bit ambitious.

Has this weapon been seen in any recent armed crimes in the ACT, I wonder?

It’s always good to hear another criminal’s firearm’s been taken off the streets.

You idiots, the gun’s obviously for self-defence against spiders http://www.theonion.com/articles/meth-addicts-demand-government-address-nations-gro,2137/
