If not for the perfidious Greens the Liberals would lower the cost of living

The Liberals Brendan Smyth is furious with the Greens for greenlighting the Ascension of Katy Gallagher to the Stanhopian throne:

“This is simply the latest action taken by a Greens Party that makes a lie of their so called ‘third party insurance.’ They are the far left branch of the Labor Party, no matter how little the Labor Party delivers.

“There is only one Party in the ACT that stands as an alternative to another decade of ACT Labor and increased cost of living and that is the Canberra Liberals,” said Mr Smyth.

So no preference deal then?

…and then the 12,000 jobs get replaced by consultants charging double an ordinary wage.

But never taking holidays!

Lol, another clueless halfwit conservative voter. Moron.

You wanna talk about Govt Waste in the past, lets talk Contractors/consultants working in the PS.

Lol @ Smyth You wouldn’t know the first thing about running a good Govt, oxygen thieves all those in the Liberal Party.

Cost of living under an alternative Liberal Party Govt, Fed or Local is absolute BS!

We wouldn’t see drop the tariff on Petrol, or prevention to the Cole and Woolworths Monopoly which drove up prices. Howard Govt is responsible for allowing that to happen.

You are a numbskull Smyth, and its why you didn’t last as a Fed Pollie.

I loved my VR, haven’t worked a day since.

I’d like to know one thing that Brendan Smyth has achieved in say, the last 10 years, that would justify me spending 10 seconds of my life reading the words in italics. What has he done that means I should give any credence to his ideas?

JB recently described Zed as “stunningly inert”, but I reckon he looks like he’s dancing the Macarena compared to Mr Smyth.

plus, I’m weird.

Well I was living in London and dropped a fair bit of it with a travel agent there for the russian travel leg.

Redundancy should be seen as a wonderful opportunity!

You should work in HR, they’d love you!

A VR paid for me to overland from London to Singapore.

Didn’t do much to help the local economy then, did it?

The VRs inevitably go to those people who would such a situation as an opportunity rather than a setup, and these are the same people who will typically get off their can and help themselves into a new job elsewhere.

And let’s not forget just how much govco relies on contractors and consultants. I am one of these nasty bottom-dwellers, and I’m currently significantly more than a full time load, and have knocked back several gigs in the last few weeks. Govco can’t seem to spend money fast enough.

Also Brendan while you are becoming the saviour of the ACT, please explain why your Federal Colleagues (Shadow Treasurer Joe Hockey) are calling for 1200 jobs to go from the APS? That’ll do wonders for the ACT Economy

12,000 redundancy cheques being spent and a chunk of them starting new businesses? I reckon that would do some wonders.

Johnboy do you honestly believe that 12,000 redundant APS staffers would have the ability to set up their own business?? Oh hang on, the redudancies always got to those who are quite capable of getting on with their lives while those in the APS tat really should go stay behind to ‘carry on’.

You really think that 12,000 people losing their jobs would be good for the local economy? How many of those people do you really think would start up successful new businesses?

Or sick leave, or Long Service Leave, or Materity Leave………………………and so it goes.

Ooohhhh, let me guess.

Is it the Dragway party? The Dragway bumper stickers from various previous elections have more public presence in Canberra then the Liberal party does.

Ha +1 BTW where have you been Brendan, hardly a whimper form you for months now you come bursting back to the fore??

I’m sure the Greens would be happy to move into government or opposition and leave the Liberals as the ACT’s third party balance of power instead…

I thought The Greens already ran the government in the ACT and federally.

You should read a note of incredulity there.

Seconded!

Really? They never have before.
