Today I phoned Iinet-owned Grapevine’ support line again. This time they returned my call but gave me a dose of pre-recorded advertising before they would let me speak to a support person.

They said that their failure to call me back on Sunday was due to a failure of their automated system, and that recent problems affecting 19,000 customers seem to have been resolved. My internet connection now seems to be working OK.

Yesterday I was having problems downloading my Iinet-owned Grapevine email.
So I tried the webmail service – also not working.
I tried to report the problems using the web form – also not working.
So I phoned up and got a recorded message that if I left my phone number they would call me back in 35 minutes.
That was 24 hours ago. I’m still waiting.

We were with iiNet back in the old dial up days. I can remember a number of 3-6hr periods where the net would “down” but I suspect that was more to do with the older technology.

Well my Bigpond went down yesterday. I’m about to ditch them and their expensive plans. I can’t believe they are going to require customers moving to NBN to maintain their copper line (and pay for it!) for another two years…

6yrs – down for maybe an hour total over that whole time. You pay but you do get quality with Bigpond.

First outage i’ve had with iinet ever, been with them a couple of years.

Thankfully, iiNet came back at around 1pm (in Fyshwick at least).

I’m not with iiNet, but I just had a 20 minute outage, which is quite unusual.

Must be that pesky NBN they’re laying in Palmerston today causing all this.
