PigDog has sent in this picture with the following comment:

“I didn’t see the rider, so they may have been a quad amputee for all I
know, but they didn’t have a disabled sticker on the bike.

Only if he’s not real.

; )

But he’s as real as Santa, and Gungahlin Al told me yes we could invite Santa to the Christmas Party.

So there, Holden Caulfield!

House even has a fake accent.

Whilst in Cairns recently chatted to a wheelchair bound bloke who had a Vespa scooter converted to a trike with a flat tray at the back for the wheelchair and a tailgate / ramp at the back for access.

Not quite on par with the race bike though.

SHUN THE UNBELIEVERS, SHUUUUUUUUUUN!

Er… at the risk of quibbling, isn’t this a fictional character?

He rode a motorbike.

Quite feasible.

Except House is not a real person, he’s a made-up person.

I would also have loved to have seen PigDog’s face if it was House!

*tee hee*

I would have loved to see the look on the rider’s face if PigDog had jumped out from behind a pillar yelling, “Surprise!” with camera wildly flashing ….

*haha*

Why would you even bother faking something like this?

Or maybe the owner still doesn’t know that his/her bike was moved for the photo… or was it stolen?

Fake or not, who gives a sh!t.

It’s just a bike in a disabled zone, not even worth a mention.

Oh ok, no worries, I’m sure some inconsiderate little f(_)ck wouldn’t steal it in order to give them selves free parking.

yeah, that’s always a possibility (i have known instances of regos being taken from motorcycles). Stealing a disabled sticker from a disabled vehicle is a pretty low act.

The disabled stickers in NSW have a photo on the back of the card. If a parking officer sees you entering or exiting from a vehicle displaying disabled sticker, then they can request to see the card to prove it matches the driver. There was a crackdown in sydney city last year where they gave out quite a number of fines, and confiscated stickers that didn’t match the identity of the driver.

And just out of curiosity, where is motorcycle rider supposed to display a disabled parking pass?

If i was a disabled motorcycle rider, i would have my disabled sticker in a little plastic tag cable-tied to the frame, similar to the rego.

I always thought those parks were for people with such a large arse that they could sit down without needing a chair.

Wow, no one knows the circumstances of the rider but everyone’s willing to have a whinge about it anyway.

You can park a bike pretty much anywhere why oh why would you put it in the middle of a disabled park?

Hahaahahaha increase car park sizes hahahahaa and decrease REVenue!!! I don’t think so. In fact they are made the size they are because it is the minimum legal requirement.

maybe if carpark planners are able to increase the size of the individual parks, we wouldn’t need PWP parking spaces.

Increasing the size of the spaces would decrease the spaces in the car park.

The size car space we get is quite generous compared to other nations.

I remember wondering if it was possible to even open the doors of my hire car the last time I park directly in the middle of a car space in the UK.

If’n I’d been a fat bastard, I think I would have been stuck.

Chuckle! Nice one. He could have been even more blatant, and parked in the “crippled parents with children” special parking spaces… maybe they were all taken.

I don’t want to scratch the side of your car when wrestling one of my twin boys into the car seat. parents with prams parks allow me to get the pram out of the boot, chuck the kids in, and not have to have the pram sticking out from behind the car.

of course, people who have no kids and park in these spaces drive me up the wall as well.

maybe if carpark planners are able to increase the size of the individual parks, we wouldn’t need PWP parking spaces.

Could have arthritis or something similar that is not debilitating at all times and just doesn’t display the sticker on the bike? But really, no one should be parking in a Disabled spot (regardless of their ability) without displaying the sticker.

The University of Huddersfield did a study on illegal parking in disabled bays in 1998. It was found that those who parked in disabled parking spaces contained a high proportion of people and vehicles who would occasion immediate police arrest.

The initiative aimed to assess the scope for offender targeting through self selection. It considered the practice of illegal parking in disabled bays in the town centre of Huddersfield. Traffic wardens were invited to record information about cars parked in disabled spaces without orange badges. Information about the vehicle and registered keeper were sought in police records.

Maybe their disability is a type of blindness which prevents one from seeing disabled signs/logos

They just want to get used to parking in a disabled space, because statistically that’s where they’re likely to end up.

no sticker = not disabled = selfish wanker.

Though given it’s a bike, you can just nudge it out of the way 😉

I know a 87 year old who rides a motorbike for his primary transport and is legally disabled – so it is possible.

But in this case… shame shame shame!

Perhaps he’s practising for when he IS disabled.

tylersmayhem2:11 pm 12 Nov 08

Maybe it was a bike that featured in the 250km/h extravaganza last week? Would be no surprise!

It’s a little known fact that you don’t have to be physically disabled to get a disabled parking permit – mentally disabled counts too.

Holden Caulfield2:10 pm 12 Nov 08

The wheelie parks can be a bit of a misnomer though. To get a legit permit you don’t have to be in a chair. Although, a legit permit for someone capable of riding a sport bike is a bit of a giggle and does seem unlikely, but you never know…
