Cockatoos by GP

The photos just keep rolling in at a phenomenal rate for Images of Canberra’s Bird Week. The above pic is by GP, but we’ve had sensational entries into the slideshow from Patrick Keogh, Braddonboy, GP and Threepaws.

Keep your bird pictures coming over the weekend to images@the-riotact.com

Love the photo of the Galah’s on the power line! It is amazing how they are completely oblivious to the fact that there is electricity flowing through the conductor that they are sitting on. They wouldn’t feel a thing not even a tingle as they are at the same potential as the conductor, they would only feel heat if the line starts to overload for some reason. The moment those Galah’s whilst sitting on that power line stretch out a wing that touches another line and BANG!! Luckily their wings aren’t long enough.

The bird on the right looks like it’s gonna shit itself with fear as the big one comes in to land! 🙂

Great photography by everyone, although no King Parrots! I really like these rolling themes.

I saw a whole flock of largish sized black birds on my nature strip this morning- I was really choughed!

Wow there are some amazing shots there.

A friend introduced me to a photo website yesterday – 365project.org

Any of you photographers using the site ? The concept is the upload a new pic taken every day. I’d love to be able to see more of your fantastic images.
