I thought it was Che Guevara while scrolling past – you see what you expect to see, I guess,

there is a whole field of research based on that observation – this is the heart of an excellent body of work that infers there is a ‘savant’ mind within all of us; fascinating stuff… look ma, i’m rainman! centreforthemind.com

I don’t buy into this “public art” BS – particularly graffiti “stencil art”. At least this one is presumably a sticker that can be removed easily, and didn’t destroy anybody elses property.

Then again, someones gotta pay for a sticker remover guy, so that does make the “artist” an arsehole.

What gives these idiots the impression they’re welcome to just come up and paint on other peoples stuff, anyway?

Because it was such a beautiful set of concrete stairs before somebody got artistic with it.

Don’t be such a wowser.

The sticker remover guy has a job, the stairs look cool for the time being. Everybody wins.

I would rather my taxes go towards this kind of public art than the million dollar abstract piles of rubbish we see when we’re driving around the place.

All I wanna know is, after all these years in the public eye, how come we’ve never heard any mention of a Mrs T?

Because a man like Mr T doesn’t need a Mrs to completeth the man. As the man himself said:

“I believe in the Golden Rule – The Man with the Gold… rules”

with respect i’m not sure this is called stenciling, JB – i walked up over this after frequenting indo cafe to collect my lunch. it’s actually lots of pieces of paper glued onto the front of the steps. paper graffiti? paper mural?

Anyone that looks inside themselves, into their untainted inner moral code, for just a minute or two, cannot surely subscribe to the idea that some people have a natural right or claim to space over others becasue of their material wealth.

You are welcome to attempt to build a mud-brick house on commonwealth land (read: owned by the public) and see how long other members of the public stand for it. Perhaps we should have some sort of governing body that sorts these trivial matters out for us of who gets to build what and where.

All I wanna know is, after all these years in the public eye, how come we’ve never heard any mention of a Mrs T?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, “untainted inner moral code”.

That just made my day.

Could post #17 be the most aesthetically pleasing post in the history of RiotACT? Wordography!

Apart from the fact that there was no Mr T in Rocky II.

Okay, fine. You win that round. But…

You should’ve never came back!

I’m the champ! I’ll beat ya like I did last time.

I’m gonna bust you up.

I guess the same idiotic logic that gives a bunch of selfish, self-interested idiots the ‘legal’ right to usurp our public space to build concrete and glass towers of ugliness on.

I welcome the fightback of the powerless and impinged upon to reclaim the space!

All private property that abuses the priviledge of ownership rights should be taken back – if not physically, symbolically.

Anyone that looks inside themselves, into their untainted inner moral code, for just a minute or two, cannot surely subscribe to the idea that some people have a natural right or claim to space over others becasue of their material wealth.

Not sure this one does. On first glance I thought it was our lord (Jesus, or a rather latino version) resting his chin on his hands clasped in prayer.

Mr T and Jesus are both reluctant heroes. In fact I think Mr T could have been the second coming (not the Mr T from Rocky II but rather from the A Team and Rocky III perhaps).

Quit your jibber jabber, fool.

What’d you say to me paper champion?

My prediction? Pain!

As I glanced at the title of this posting I wondered to myself how many posts it would take for someone to mention “I pity the fool”. Sure enough the first 2 posters obliged. Astrojax & DawnDrifter, may you both die deaths via a million bee stings for your despicable crimes against originality.

so just how short is the ideal viewer?

I think you’ll find that if the photographer was a little further back, a few steps to the left and quite a bit lower, the image would come together much neater.

I love it when a stencil comes together (when looked at from the right angle).

troll-sniffer2:03 pm 12 Oct 10

Gee Mr T is imppressive enough, what about the seamless rendition of a sandwich board above it? No a line or seam anywhere, anyone would think it was in fact really there.

‘I pity the fool’

ah pity the foo’ who gots to clean dis up…
