To take your minds from the southern Canberra war zones Pommy Bastard has been out to the foot of Mt Painter this morning, has whacked some watercolour effects on his photo and sent it in.

Mmmm, sheep, clouds, trees…

For a look at what you can do with sheep, using electricity.

Totally worksafe.

Ah, Welshmen and sheep! Very creative with a sheep is your average Welshman. (A bit like Kiwi’s in that respect)

velcro gloves, gumboots and always seduce your sheep on a cliff.

I like my sheep fat and happy.

Chuckle. Another chuckle. Guffaw.

I find the shot a bit depressing, the land is dying. But at least DMD’s comment was funny.

I’ve seen this, but there seems to be some controversy amongst the YouTube commenters over whether it’s genuine or not.

The watercolour effect is quite pretty!

John has now very kindly linked to a fuller sized image, where the watercolour* effect can be seen.

My thanks John.

(Damn my spell checker for wanting me to spell it “watercolor”!)

I really can’t remember seeing Canberra so dry. That shot really shows it up. I agree, it is quite relaxing and peaceful.

i second granny’s sentiments. a very soothing image.

Trapped in a Constable is by Scott Edgar and the Universe, which is headed up by Scott from Tripod.

Used to be on the 666 playlist, and there’s a couple of versions on youtube.

Chorus ends with “They’re frozen in a farm on a lovely day, and it will always be that way”.

Good photo, but I feel sorry for the sheep, bugger all to eat by the looks of it.

Thanks for the comments everyone, very much appreciated.

You won’t make out the watercolour effects at this resolution.

Johboy normally links to a fuller resolution image, but not this time. I know not why.

There’s something very peaceful and evocative about this shot. It’s kind of soothing. It makes you feel like everything’s alright with the world. Very easy on the eye. I really like it.

show me lightning shots, or just rain. miss rain. good shot PB, just don’t know what the watercolor effects are.

“Trapped in a (John) Constable (painting)”??
Never heard of it.
Who’s it by?

Oh, and nice shot Pommy Bastard.

Very nice.

I like it. Reminds me of the song “Trapped in a Constable”.

Aah, the peaceful environs of the North…

hmmm, can’t really make out the water colour effects for the small size. But seeing you mentioned them I can kind of imagine them – just not sure if I’m seeing them or imagining them. 😀

But from what I can see it looks like a nice picture.
