Kerces has found a peculiar fence between Belconnen Mall and Florey. Art or vandalism?

Well done man, awesome photo.

What band are you in AD? sorry to be a RA noob 😛

I decided to be funny in the head instead.
It’s more rewarding, plus you get to drool and cackle.

Looks like a scathing criticism of a federalism to me.

Did someone forget to bring their sense of humour to the site today, Kaneo?

If I’d spent a pile of dosh on a new colorbond fence in a location frequented by vandals, I’d leave the wooden one there as well. Let the graffiti goons attack the crap one.
It seems to be a smart ploy by the owner, rather than an artisitic statement.
Some of you guys should be writing the scripts for A Current Affair and Today Tonight with the imaginations you have.

…and possibly minus a few palings.

Wonder what the fence looks like now?

Trees are falling down all over Wanniassa.

yea it full bucketed down out at the airport
couldn’t see across the road from our vantage point in the first floor

No AD, I don’t believe it was a schooner, but something more like a fishing trawler!

when i squint I can see a schooner

You should enter this one in the Turner Prize or equivalent

AD, that’s a really interesting interpretation, but I feel that you are slightly wrong on two points.

To me the trees are like the shadow of death hanging over the scene waiting to swallow up its victims.

The brick wall represents a solid foundation – as in, while some lives are ending, other lives are just beginning.

(Note how the bricks are joined together like two hot chicks being joined in marriage.)

mr evil I would like to point your attention to the background imagery or the sub text if you will.

– the juxtaposition of natural elements and man made elements.

– The trees next to the fence commiserating with their dead fellows the fence pailings…

– The dead trying to reach their natural home in the ground but being obstructed by another man made element – the brick wall.

This tells the deeper story of how man restricts the natural cycle of life and how our constant meddling will only lead to despair and sorrow from which we cannot escape.

Yes, an interesting work indeed. Obviously it’s a commentary on the link between the Federal Govt and the death of so many poor innocents on the SIEV-X.

Notice how the palings are flung outwards and upwards like the arms of struggling, drowning people – whilst the colourbond fence stands silently looking on, while not attempting at all to intervene.

A truly beautiful work – filled with pity and angst!

whats the address – i will need some firewood come march next year.

I know this place. Colourbond fencing on the other side of the wooden pailings. End result, no-one can see the fence in its state of disrepair, hence no-one giving a fudge.

welocme to totterdell territory
