Immigration Place to replace bridge

so, the bridge was in the end refused its visa? what parts of burley-griffin’s plan will they trash next?

The objections regarding the immigration bridge mostly weren’t because people were against the idea of recognising immigration, rather the creation of monstrosity and unnecessary bridge over the lake. In the right place and the right design, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Lets hope our taxpayer dollars aren’t contributing to this!

On Australia Day last year the Governor General opened ‘Citizenship Place’ just down from Regatta Point. That particular spot was chosen as it has been the location of citizenship ceremonies for the last 25 years or so.

Why do we need an immigration place as well?

Obviously someone wants their name on a plaque.
