And in other news, Thaindian News is reporting that the Sri Lankans and Indians are here in Canberra for the fifth match of the Commonwealth Bank one-day series.
Pity it’s raining as it promises to be a good contest.
Nice sun, great atmosphere and India lost. Gotta be happy with that!
It’s a shame it’s taken so long to get a ODI in Canberra and with the end of the triangular format we may never get another one.
Seeing as the sun is out and Manuka Oval is between work and home I might drop in for the last 10 overs or so.
4.15pm Just a slight drizzle now – the cut off time is 4:43 local time, not a minute longer. Oh good, they are removing the big covers, but the cover that is protecting the pitch will remain as it is still drizzling although ABC reckons it’s a 4.40 restart. Not much room to manoeuvre there then.
Pissing down here in Civic…
India’s innings just finished at 5/195, quite handy really.
But if the rain doesn’t stop play, then bad light will.
Tait can look ugly, but Murali looks as if he’s pitching in baseball….
The rain is bucketing down in the southern bits of town, expect either the game to be finished immediately or fried wet Indian.
You call it shocking, I call it chucking. Same, same.
Mind, Tait’s action is ugly in both senses of the word, and Lee’s doesn’t always look kosher either.
Oh, and am I the only one that thinks Murali’s action is getting more and motre suspect?
I saw him bowling in the nets when they played here earlier this season and all i could do was shake my head. It is shocking…
India 3/147 and looking to get to over 200…
They’re 22 overs into the the first innings in what has become a Twenty-nine29 match. Although a quick scan of the BoM radar doesn’t bode well. It looks as though another small pocket of rain is on its way that could bring an even more premature end to the match.
Possibly a one pm start…
If we’re lucky we might get a 30 over game. Covers have just been removed, apparently…
The crowds backing these teams are some of the most jubilant, fun loving, good time rockers you will ever see. Had the pleasure of watching a number of them in Hobart a while back.
They love their cricket, and cant help but get a bit jumpy via osmosis
If you’ve never seen an international 20/20 then head on down to Manuka this afternoon.
At best it will be a 25 over a side game.
The rain has just eased off a bit, would be nice if they could get some play in today. Not sure how good the drainage at Manuka Oval is though.
ACT Cricket must be bitterly disappointed with the timing of this rain.
