Indian Canberra Bombers turn 50 - still the safest plane in the IAF

Zee news from Pune in India have the exciting news that the Indian Air Force’s English Electric Canberra Bombers have turned 50 and are stll going strong as the safest planes in the Indian Air Force.

Starting from Congo to Goa liberation, to Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971 to Kargil, the Canberra has participated in all the major actions and has emerged victorious.

Apart from anything else, there are few more majestic-looking planes IMHO. Did anyone else see them fanging around at the end of WW2 60th anniversary last year? Cool as sh!t.
