ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to multiple car break ins in Barton, as well as property damage to a school in Griffith overnight.

Around 7.50pm last night (Tuesday, June 21), police attended Macquarie Street in Barton following reports of a group of men attempting to steal a car from a car park.

Police also located property damage to vehicles at two underground car parks in Blackall Street.

The offenders are described as four males, one of which is Caucasian, and was wearing a dark coloured tracksuit with a white stripe down the pants. A second male in the group was described as wearing a white tracksuit.

In a separate incident, Police attended Saint Edmunds College on Canberra Avenue in Griffith at 3.40am today (Wednesday, June 22) following reports of people attempting to break into the school. A total of 59 windows were broken at the rear of the school, with an estimated damage of $10,000.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen any suspicious people or activity in Barton last night, or heard or seen any suspicious activity near Saint Edmunds College early this morning to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
