$150,000 will be split between eight organisations to help fund projects with the goal of improving the lives of people in Canberra.
Today Joy Burch announced the eight recipients.
“These new strategies, concepts and ideas put forward by the grant recipients have the potential to promote positive change in our community,” Ms Burch said.
“Innovation can take many forms and this year’s recipients bring creative ideas to education, training, physical activities and knowledge-sharing.”
The recipients:
NICAN Inc – Cut Thru Crew.
Paperworks Inc – Paper Marketing Program for Migrants or Refugees.
Summer Foundation – Evaluating the impact of DisabilityCare for people with disability in the ACT.
TADACT Inc – Therapeutic Electro-Mechanical Motion Generator (EMG) for Children with Disabilities.
Mr Phillip Andrews – ACT Junior Goal/ball Development.
Social Ventures Australia ACT – Social Enterprise Seed Fund.
Enable Development – Development of an ACT Assistive Devices Collaboration Network.
Ms Sheree Henley & Ms Sally Richards – Vela Microboards Canberra.
