The new lookABC website, which may or may not have been designed by three-toed sloth after a eating a gut full of coca leaves, is running a story that our esteemed Federal and ACT Labor politicians are organising ACT’s own mini 2020 summit.

Innovation is the theme, and Annette Ellis is sure that by inviting Canberrans to take part, it would create a bunch of really useful, innovative ides for our delegates to take along to the Kev07 love in. The only catch dear readers, is people wanting to register for the talks can email summit@con-sol.com by March 21.

So lets begin. My innovative idea is that we utlise large trebuchet’s to ease the burden on our public transport system, by launching people over and around our Parliamentary Triangle. I see two advantages to this, the larger-than-your-average-bear percentile of our population will either via humiliation or death, be forced to streamline (ahem) their bodies to the rigours of gravity, as well as help with the demolition of condemned, or about to be redeveloped buildings by being launched in, on or through the structure, thus saving the contrauction industry valuable time and resources, that can be spent on building moderate income houses in outlying areas of Canberra, or bolstering the profits of ACTTAB, local sporting clubs adn the various ‘Gentlemen Clubs’ located in our industrial heartland.

I think we need to remember that 2020 is only 12 years away (looking back to give prespective Howard had just come to office 12 years ago).

What is the mechanism to implement any outcomes – remember the Canberra Plan of 2003? Whats been done under that and want has been done outside of that plan?

How much was paid to document what was going to be done anyway (see we are implementing the plan) and what was always going to be ignored (didn’t see tax increases in that plan, didn’t see school closures in that plan, didn’t see the axing of business programs and tourism funding in that plan).

Plans and summits can be really useful if owned by the communities, but useless gabfests when owned by Governments (the deals get done in the backrooms in terms of any initiaitives that will actually be implemented.

Moff,
I don’t. I am just not in the mood to argue with a clown.

The word is DRIVEL. Grrr

that now makes sense – i agree it is a bit too much.
the page you linked to first actually goes to the 2020 story on thier normal site and it is quite conservative for a news site.

still, i’m glad you accept that your post was dribble.

Well Moff,
As for groundless. here a few opinions on the ABC website. As for the Canberra’s planning decisions, I see nothing in my dribble loosely disguides as a post that even attempts to kick the shins of ACT’s planning process, no matter how confusing or backward it may look.
But as an aside, I am sure that I am not the only one who believes that some of problem within ACTPLA may reside in the problem that many of the employees may or may nor be murderers for whom the movie Delieverance is an aspirational lifestyle choice.

well, you can make all your points clear at the local mini 20/20 summit when it comes along.

that is, if you actually have something constructive to say rather than having a groundless whinge about ABC’s new website and canberra’s planning decisions.
