Another podcasting tour de force awaits those who can handle the download.

The official RSS Feed for those of you with podcatching software is http://the-riotact.com/%7Ejohnboy/podcast/index.xml

If the download is a bit much we do have a pint-for-play scheme in which I’ll burn either 1 podcast to audio cd or the first 10 to mp3 cd. Email johnboy@the-riotact.com and nominate a pint dispensing bar in the inner north for the exchange.

If you have an opinion about our podcasting efforts why not put it on the record on our idiotvox listing.?

Track List:
When She Whispers My Name. 5:58
Give Me Some Mercy. 19:40
Sitting on a Railing. 44:59
Andre. 1:04:23

Loadedog’s summary of events is a worthy teaser for the real deal.

nice work IB folks, good to see that live musical element creeping in there

Further to this, there was a story on the front page of the business section in today’s CT (Monday) about the head of Apple launching the new version of iTunes with podcatching capability.

Also today i heard on JJJ a cute ad letting people know they’re podcasting a bunch of shows and no you don’t need to take a computer with you to listen to it and no you can’t listen to them on a cassette walkman.

K

And in huge news for the IB team (and all who’ve contributed so far) the following entry from the riotact access log:

a17-201-54-190.apple.com – – [25/Jun/2005:07:33:18 +1000] “GET /~johnboy/podcast/index.xml HTTP/1.1” 200 50329 “-” “iTunes/4.9 (Macintosh; N; PPC)”

which probably means:

a) podcatching capability IS in the next release of iTunes (current is v. 4.8)

b) we’re on the list of podcasts that are going to be preloaded on that release

I’ll save the bubbly till it hits the street but I think a short “Yippee” is in order.
