ACT Policing is seeking public assistance following a burglary at the Canberra Irish Club in Weston overnight, which also involved more than $220,000 worth of damage to poker machines.

A small amount of cash was stolen from the poker machines during the offence, which occurred between 11pm last night and 5.30am today (Wednesday, April 20).

Police attended the club in Parkinson Street, Weston, this morning after cleaners identified the damage. Eight poker machines were broken into and damaged during the burglary, with an estimated replacement cost of $28,000 per machine.

Police inquiries are ongoing. Anyone who may be able to assist police with the investigation are asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
