It only felt that long

Just thought you all might enjoy what greeted us on the front page of the online CT today:

All fixed now though.

And who’d have thought 12 years as Prime Minister would attract a decent pension! Oh the scandal!

(Surely something more interesting happened in Canberra yesterday?)

All these people bitching about the lack of news … and what does “news website” RA come up with? Sweet FA.

“sepi,

i think the subject your comment highlights, deserves its own thread.”

Sepi doesn’t like airports: they make noise that keeps her/him awake. 🙂

Well, it did feel like 1112 years…

It’s actually appeared on the CT internet site many times during the election campaign, where they talked about Howard’s time in office.

Their spelling and grammar is shocking on the site, as well as the layout of the content.

I don’t know what school student they have updating the site, but I think they need a new one.

It certainly did feel that long.

And worth a giggle, I think Johnboy was going for the “what the” silly fun factor people, must be time for a christmas holiday for us all!

sepi,

i think the subject your comment highlights, deserves its own thread.

insert humour modules gentlemen.

It isn’t about payback it’s just about the funny.

THere is news.
The airport has apparently bought a new plot of land next to their current block, and can develop at will.

how does that work?

I understand that airports are not under local govt control, but surely that is only the airport as it exists within its current boundaries. If they can just keep buying up more and more land, and then once they own it it becomes part of the airport, and loses all planning restrictions, then there really is no end to their little empire.

LOALZ HAHA ROFL THE RIOT ACT IS A RIOT!!!! IT WASN’T THAT LONG REALLY HAHAH I GET IT IT ONLY FELT THAT LONG

You know its a quiet day when the media runs a story about … the festive season road toll, the winner of the Syd/Hobart yacht race, petrol prices going up for the holidays, what to do with your old christmas cards or the Queens/Pope’s Christmas message. Hold on. In about two weeks we’ll get all of those “news” stories!

Haha, is this a who can be more outraged at something that doesn’t warrant outrage competition?

Re original post: You were wrong, johnboy.
The CT making fixable typos isn’t unexpected these days, let alone worth bandwidth on RiotAct.

I’ll occasionally report a major flaw in ABC Online articles to the ABC Online Editor, but I don’t go telling the whole world.

Or are you just hosing off the veneer of respect RA was building up, jb?

Good lord there is some preciousness that happens around this place when someone dares besmirch the good name of the RA. First Margo Kingston and now the CT – talk about being able to dish it out but not take it.

I’d just been enjoying the disappearance of this type of pettiness – it’s a typo ffs.

That’s a bit American military isn’t it?

I think the point is more that had he held his seat of Bennelong *sniggers* that he would have then retired on a backbencher’s salary, which would have then affected his retirememt package. So, even when we get rid of him he still bites us. Haha!

Otherwise, yeah, slow news day…
