UC is letting us know they’ve conferred an honorary doctorate on former Chief Minister Stanhope.

Professor Stanhope joined the University as a Professorial Fellow within the ANZSOG Institute of Governance in August 2011.

“I am enjoying my new role in academia and playing a part in helping the University of Canberra continue on its path of growth and excellence in education, research and service to the community,” he said.

At least he can wear the floppy hat with his colleagues now.

Professor Stanhope, Please do not do to the University, what you did to Canberra.

I’m not sure the University of Canberra can get much worse… even with Stanhope being part of it.

It is my understanding that recipients of honourary degrees are not able to use the title, so it’s NOT Dr Stanhope

Convention is that you don’t use it, but Peter Hollingworth did.

You are probably correct but who really cares?

It is my understanding that recipients of honourary degrees are not able to use the title, so it’s NOT Dr Stanhope

What’s his research area? Integrity in Government?

Well if it’s going to be Dr Minogue, it may as well be Dr Stanhope.

Let’s not forget that Kylie Minogue this week became a Doctor of Medical Science… these honorary awards have all the stature of the floppy hat they wear.

Professor Stanhope, Please do not do to the University, what you did to Canberra.
