Ok, so maybe Tuesday funny car stickers is not a real thing we do, but we did get these two photos sent in today by Nicole.

I thought you might like these pics of cars with interesting stickers.

I came across the Jeep of Regret while buying emergency baking supplies at the Karabar shops.

The photo of the wannabe-Enterprise was taken last winter, but I kept forgetting to send it in. Anyway, this one is a combo of interesting sticker and lousy parking, taken at the Computer Science building at ANU.

Thanks Nicole. If you see something amusing in this city of ours please take a photo and send it in to us at images@the-riotact.com.

Hi

I am the owner of the Jeep of regret.

I have owned the Jeep for 2 and a half years now, since new.

I have clocked up 60,000km on the car, I live out of town and wanted to provide my family with safe reliable transport to commute into town with. The Jeep retired my 280,000 km Subaru Forester, which never had major problems.

So whats my beef you ask?

first 1200km of owning the car I had the rear main engine seal replaced
second service rear main seal replaced again (perhaps workshops fault because it was not fixed correctly the first time)

That was however a minor issue.

The major issue is that it has suffered 5 clutch related failures which has rendered the car immobilised. One time this happened while my 4 year old daughter was a passenger I had just stopped at a stop sign, proceeded to cross a busy intersection (up hill) I went to shift from first into second and the hydraulic clutch master cylinder failed I was stuck in neutral in the intersection.

A combination of master cylinder and slave cylinder’s failing have been the fault.

The dealership also leaves a lot to be desired, they damaged a drive shaft seal once after replacing the gearbox (slave sits behind the clutch), and then returned the car to me and when I contacted them they denied being the fault (initially). On another occasion instead of having the car towed they got a mechanic out to drive it from Greenway to Phillip without a clutch.

To top it off the rear shocks started leaking oil and had to be replaced.

I know a few people with the same car and have no issues, the sticker attracts lots of stories about Jeep’s some good and some bad, the dealership stories are always atrocious.

So thats my beef.

I wonder what the dealership people say when you drop the car in for a(nother) servicing job? Have they made any comments about the sticker?

I know a few people who own Jeeps. Most wouldn’t buy another.

Nice guess, but it’s older than that, plus I’d be thanking Harrison Ford, not William Shatner, in that case.

I’m no Trekkie but I do know the difference, haha. I was just making an attempt to give your car a modicum of credibility. 😛

I’d like to thank God, Nicole, Satan, and William Shatner.

I knew JJ Abrams took some liberties with the reboot, but surely replacing a Constitution-class starship with a Falcon station wagon was a bit much?

I’m not up to speed on my Falcon model history, but I think there’s a chance that one could have been a millennium Falcon (ie. built in 2000).

It’s an EF – ’94/’95.

while buying emergency baking supplies”

This sounds like Nicole is fabricating an alibi!

To boldly park where no man has parked before?

Close enough as far as I’m concerned.

Perhaps, although I like to think the Falcon wagon captures all the massive, bulbous-y plastic-ness of the NCC-1701.

I’ve seen that Jeep around before. Often wondered what their beef was. I mean… Things that suck about Jeeps that you only found-out about AFTER owning one, rather than BEFORE.

Congratulations Nicole, you’ve spotted the arescarti-mobile in its natural habitat.

I feel supremely honoured and privileged to appear in a Riotact bad parking post, all my hard work and years of terrible, terrible parking have finally paid off.

I’d like to thank God, Nicole, Satan, and William Shatner.

well, it’s not a parking post!
