In a hard fought engagement Jack Waterford’s necromancy in raising the spectre of Colin Winchester has won him the Mully Cup, edging out Barack Obama.

The Mully Cup is awarded to the persons who excite the most public comment in Canberra for a calendar month.

Previous winners include former Chief Minister Jon Stanhope, radio presenter Mark Parton, and graveyard desecrator James March.

Grubby hubcap trophy I can live with, but getting wrong the month of Her Majesty’s Graceful Visitation is a problem for me.
But how do you clean off permanent marker without removing the layer of character dirt?

With a re-dirt applicator.
All the professional trophy makers use it.

. . . not to mention the owners of Toorak Tractors.

But what happens when all the spokes bear the name of a luminary?
Think ahead and send out the work experience guy to ‘find’ a few more.
He’ll take the rap for the team, surely.

Endless supply nailed to a tree in Fyshwick.

We’ll probably just go to Tiny’s and buy another three hubcaps at $3 a pop and create an expanded base.

RiotACT should be applauded. This is the most attention Jack W has had for at least twenty years. Whenever I think my life is crap, I just reflect on how much worse it would be to be Jack, hanging on to yesterday’s relevance and the days when the CT was a real newspaper.

I remember! Sigh. Such days they were.

Come on Johnboy, surely such a coveted trophy deserves 30 seconds and a little metho/turps to clean off the incorrect Nov and put in Oct properly.

I love that you got the month wrong for The Queen.

The only problem with this particular recipient is that Jack will be absolutely chuffed by this award!

Superb decision. And may I add that the topic was also remarkable in that Waterford simply wasn’t able to weave in mention of his connection with the land through long-ago farming ancestors who scratched out a living somewhere out west – something he has somehow managed to mention in every column he has ever written!

Dear Jack
