Canberra’s man of a thousand faces, and nearly as many instrumentations, has sent in the following communication:

    Erebis
Erebis is a Japanese elvis impersonator who moved to Canberra last year. Although thoroughly conversant in all things Presley, his true passion is improvisation. Earlier this year he presented his first solo show at The Front,
performing on drums and double bass to a mesmerized crowd. For this performance he will be joined by trumpeter Reuben Lewis, who is known for exploring the sound possibilities of the trumpet.

UPDATE: The show has been moved to Monday 20 July.

Maybe it’s Junichiro Koizumi.
He showed off some good moves in front of dubbya.

Pretty good impersonation, until he takes the shades off

That’s as good as the Mexican Elvis impersonator I saw at the Viper Room years ago. Was very odd at the time.

I would pay good money to see this.

I think there is nothing cooler than a Japanese Elvis impersonator (unless it is possibly two men in gorilla suits playing cards…)

i hope that means there’s a japanese Jacko impersonator soonish.

double bass eh…

Can he do the budgie tongue?

arigato very much?

I fully support this endeavour.

So… what’s the essence of a Japanese elvis impersonator?
Will he be playing the drums to a beat of a Japanese drum (taiko, they call it)?
Maybe Elvis’ moves with a Japanese mix?

I’m confused!
