The what you say? Well if you did you obviously are not a Catholic as the JCI is the Journey of the Cross and Icon, part of the Catholic Churches’ World Youth Day.
The Prime Minister held a welcome for the Micks on Monday at Parliament House and the big wooden thing that people get nailed to that is a symbol of peace (wtf?) and the Icon (can anyone tell me what the Icon actually is?) has since gone on procession around Goulburn, Yass and the South Coast. The Procession is due back in the ACT on Friday and hits all the Catholic schools, hospitals, parishes and the odd notable Canberra location (the war memorial, reconciliation place, the AIS) over the next couple of days before going down to the Snowie Mountains on Tuesday 23 Feb.
The JCI’s Canberra itinerary can be found here.
