Ex Brumbies as government related CEOs in Canberra appears to be becoming commonplace.

Following Owen Finegan at Snowy Hydro SouthCare we now have Joe Roff announced as the University of Canberra Union CEO:

The position has been created as a result of UCU’s new strategic plan and direction, to invest in campus life at the University of Canberra. The first task of the revitalised union will be to look at new services that might be provided either directly or in partnership with leading community, sporting and cultural organisations.

Mr Roff said he was pleased to be appointed to the position.

“I am excited by the direction of the UCU and the opportunity to lead the organisation. I have been involved in sporting and community organisations in Canberra for the past 15 years, and I look forward to bringing the skills I have gained working in Canberra business and as a professional athlete to the UCU,” he said.

We understand he’s also on the Brumbies board as player’s representative.
