The Canberra Times has a story on the diplomatic manueverings surrounding the Dalai Lama’s upcoming visit to Canberra.

It seems Mr. Stanhope has managed to make sure he won’t be in town, and so will manage to avoid offending his new Chinese friends.

Katy will get to do the honours.

There is no Tibet. There is no Tibet.
There is no Tibet.

If we say it enough times, we might start to believe it.

The journalists were not shot by Indonesian forces.

The journalists were not shot by Indonesian forces.

The journalists were not shot by Indonesian forces.

See, It’s easy…

Now, we just need to have a ‘Home and Away’ episode about it, and we can all believe it.

Bloody stupid cretins!!

I DID NOT VOTE FOR THIS SCHMOE.

I WILL NOT VOTE FOR THESE SCHMOES.

I WILL NOT VOTE FOR THESE SCHMOES.

I WILL NOT VOTE FOR THESE SCHMOES.

(There is no place like home (tap) There is no place like home (tap) There is no place like home (tap)) – Why is everything I see still in color…

I don’t see what harm it does for politicians to meet with people, whether they’re exiled Tibetan leaders or heads of uranium mining corporations or whatever else. Listening to what someone has to see does not mean anything is going to change, it just shows that they’re open to discussing issues.

Shame on Stanhope for dodging it. And shame on the Chinese for pressuring people not to meet another human being on our own turf – it’s none of their damn business!
