poster vandalism

Ex-Vectis has sent in this example of “improvement” of political posters as the election goes into overdrive.

While in no way encouraging this sort of thing we are happy to document it.

So if you see something you want to share email it in to images@the-riotact.com .

Gulia Jones seems to have gained a fan on the Tuggeranong Parkway as someone has written “Fag” on her forehead on quite a number of signs.

saw that this morning – bizarre

On the Monaro Hwy (northbound), someone wants us to vote for ‘Calvin’ … and there’s some other text on there that I missed. Very simple black & white sign.

Is it a Calvin & Hobbes reference? Did anyone else see this?

On my way home a few days ago, while passing a row of posters for Jayson Hinder I pondered the fact that, with his rather dapper black goatee, his posters would be improved by the addition of some tasteful devil horns.

The next morning, I saw that someone else had been inspired by the same thought. 🙂 I shall try and get a photo if it is still there.

Given the litter of these posters everywhere, I would have liked to see more artists out there performing their work.

Well Done Mr or Ms Burka
(I hope there is a Mully or similar award out there)

Winning

“Any advertisement in public space that gives you no choice whether you see it or not is yours. It belongs to you. It’s yours to take, rearrange and re-use. Asking for permission is like asking to keep a rock someone just threw at your head.”
? Banksy

He he, wish I had thought of that.

Yeah I saw this on Athllon early this morning on the way to the pool. When I got back I emailed Mark Parton at 2CC about it. 30 mins later I took my camera out there to get a pic to send to this site. The burqa poster had been replaced by a new poster of Burch. Sounds like the Labor faithful were listening to the dark side rather than their beloved Devil’s Radio 666.

Meredith Hunter seems to have acquired a particularly dapper moustache drawn on one poster on Belconnen way. It was with some amusement that I noticed that the next one along was Jacob Vadakkedathu who actually has a moustache.
