Just a bit more on criminals—(Watson highest unlawful entries in ACT)

Great to see a site where all the under worked Canberians can waste more time (damn i miss
Canberra)So I was reading the blog on crime and Watson, just a few trivial facts I know about out cri in al system and how we treat them.Wagga has a juvenile detention centre and oh boy have I learned a bit from this place, did you know if you commit a crime b4 u are 18 then when you turn 18 they don’t move them to big boys prison oh no they get to stay on till there 21. So the young 11 year old criminal gets to hang out with the 20 year old criminal, wonder what he will learn.I also like there in ground pool and the special things they get like riding on quad bikes as a treat for being well behaved criminals.Oh and not to mention there family whom come to visit from out of town and who foots the bill yes yes u guessed it the tax payer, while the family’s are here they get drunk, drugged out fight steal and mame. Then there’s our jail system where while the family’s visit there’s a nice big well maintained play area for the criminals kids and here is where the seed is planted, these youngens start to think well what a cool place i cant wait to visit Dad we get to play and get cold drinks and a free lunch…….. We love jail. Then there’s our local law enforcment, these guys are great considering the lack of them, but lets face it break and enters stolen cars graffiti noise pollution…………none of these raise revenue but speed cameras and highway patrol men now they raise revenue and lots of it.Climbs down from soap box. ZERO TOLERANCE says I

So, is the poster a disgruntled Australian tennis fan from the 70s?

Skidbladnir does not give this one any skid marks, thankyou.

Its hard to get past the lack of formatting, terrible spelling, worse grammar, and bizarre method of delivery on this one. 😐

no marks, but skid marks, hasdrubahl. no joyce in this post, not joy. and definitely not on any road nor fear – just loathing!

(though i did sort of dig his ‘cri in al’ but wondered who ‘al’ was…)

I disagree with most of you. The post was a brave attempt at an adaptation of the ‘stream of consciousness’ literary technique. I see shades of James Joyce, jack Kerouac and even Hunter S Thomson in there.

Unfortunately another literary convention, the ‘stream of crap’, prevailed on this occasion. But give the loon marks for trying.

um, and apart from a reference to ‘canberians’ [huh?] what is the local content? a wagga squared holiday camp travelogue (i’ll let slip any other english massacre references given the poor lad/lass has spent so much time at ‘camp’) doesn’t seem to be very ACT-oriented. mebbe s/he is here as a summer gnat?

I personally think it’s great that the RiotAct admins filter us through some funny posts now and then. And everyone’s comments just add to the hilarity of it.

I’m stoked that this barely coherant rubbish was deemed worthy of it’s own article.

I guess it goes to show RiotAct is definitely an equal opportunity site – allowing illiterates to post n’ all that.

Uhh, what the hell did this guy say?

Txtspeak is made for people who have to use phones which have a small amount of keys. So it’s acceptable there because it’s made for that. But it’s kinda weird when people use it on computers, they designed keyboards for people to type out full sentences, so use it for that.

In closing, “English m****rf****r, do you speak it?” – Pulp Fiction.

Why did this horribly written post make it to the front page?

Also, how dare this twit say something like “Great to see a site where all the under worked Canberians can waste more time”.

Obviously when this fool lived/worked in Canberra he was a lazy twat who got mugged by some 10 year olds!

Muppet. Single issue poster who will never return. Maybe he should just go to a party at Pottsy’s house in ‘Old’ Red Hill.

If bad grammar was punishable by imprisonment, then Dienewk would definitely be put in prison. But it’s all good because it’s just like a holiday resort in there hey??

Oops, I’m looking at RiotACT on a Saturday!. I should have left it until I got to work because I’m such an underworked Canberran. You know we all sit around and twiddle our thumbs all day Monday to Friday. Puhleeeez…

Thumper Thumper 10:23 pm 05 Jan 08

I’m not quite sure what this is all about. Besides, it should be a crime to write without punctuation….

Mash – No to both

Deadmandrinking Deadmandrinking 10:06 pm 05 Jan 08

Oh, sorry, which reality were you wanting? The one where you get punished for endangering life, or the one where no-one ever dies in road accidents?

Special G Special G 10:00 pm 05 Jan 08

DMD once again assuring us that he has a tenuous grip on reality.

Dienewk – Good content – work on the presentation

Dienewk. Have you any concept of the English language? Your post was awful.

Does anyone check these posts?

I think I agree with what Dienewk is saying – but I can’t be sure…

Okay, read that twice and I think I got it.

So…being locked up all day, away from your family for most of the time and not seeing your friends on the outside is like a holiday camp? Well, it is kind of like a holiday camp, but I always hated f-king holiday camps and I would deplore being in one for any longer than a few days.

The fact is, these kids are locked up. They are restricted to one area 24/7. They cannot go to town with their friends. They cannot go and mingle with members of the opposite sex (which is living hell for most teenagers). They are watched by guards all day. It’s a punishment. To make conditions in juvenile prisons worse wouldn’t be punishing them. It would be neglecting them.

That being said, I do agree that it is wrong for people over the age of 18 to remain in juvenile detention centers. You don’t want the young-un’s mixing with older, more hardened criminals.

And with the ‘revenue-raising’ argument – grow up! This argument is mostly used by people who don’t want to take responsibility for their own misdeeds , yet complain about everyone else who doesn’t.
Just because you get caught for endangering other motorist’s lives on the road because there was a cop in the next lane, it doesn’t mean everyone is out to get you. What do you want them to do? Not bother pulling over dangerous drivers at all? Watch the road toll rise!

Burglars are a lot harder to catch. Investigations must be undertaken, property must be identified, offenders must be located. Dangerous driving, however, is much easier – especially when it’s done right in front of a cop. If you’re speeding or driving dangerously in front of a cop, you deserve to be caught. If you are speeding or driving dangerously, you are endangering LIVES not property. Big difference.
