Are you ready for the challenges this week bring Rioters?

Are you sufficiently pumped?

Do you need help reaching the the recommended level of pumpage?

We’re here to help, with pump inducing photos of Canberra worst parkers.

If you happen to see, or if you happen to be, one of Canberra’s worst parkers please take a photo and send it to images@the-riotact.com.

1. Local folk musician and crime fighter Matty Ellis sent this shot in:

Thought you might appreciate this snap taken near the oconnor shops this morning…

Don't

2. Matty narrowly beat out Poetix’s shot of the same park, but then Poetix worked out how to beat everyone else to calling Spotto:

The possum eradication programme? As seen in O’Connor.

You

Spotto!

Wanna

3. Sheep Groper likes bad parking at the chemist and quilts:

I wasn’t spending all my weekend staking out the cheap chemist zebra crossing, I just snapped a photo of parking miscreants if I saw any when I went past. And I was at the Quilt and Craft show too.

Be A Personality An Ocean In

4. Stuart seems managed to see Sheep Gropers chemist, and raise him a cop car:

Caught this one in Woden on Monday. Parking spots are a premium in this part of town at lunchtime. Is that a no standing sign I can see?

The

5. Delish has theories:

Found this pearler…

Obvious a massive destructive creature like Godzilla came and moved this car.

I can not honestly believe that this person was such a moron!

This cause so much interruption as it is the entry to Jamison Shopping Centre from Catchpole street, across from Southern Cross Club.

Sea But

6. Glenn delivers this:

Saw this one outside of Monash Primary during the afternoon. Parent also thought it was a good idea to partially block the entrance.

You'll

7. Amie has a point:

It annoys me no end when self serving people take up the entire footpath, leaving no room for anyone to pass. This one was in Mckellar. In this instance I had to take a pram, a dog and a toddler on a bike onto the road to get past and then negotiate the curb on the otherside. I looked a right treat. – flabbergasted.

Never

8. Dph investigates some stairs:

Tuesday afternoon. ADFA car park (one of many). Plenty of empty spaces within metres of this Ute. Still, someone felt the need to block off the main pathway to this car park.

Make It

9. R knows us well:

After your post on slow bad parking this week thought you would these two (two of same spot but one with the no parking sign) near teleopia park school.

If You

10. An anonymous Rioter is reporting from behind the lines:

This is what happens if you cross the parking gods in the ABS car park in Belconnen. It went pay parking starting July 2013 to avoid the ABS paying fringe benefits tax. A complicated balloting and prepay system has been implemented resulting in a consistent below %50 take up rate. Naughty people still try to sneak in and get THE CLAMPS! Our COO has decreed that slinking off to the Westfield mall every two hours to move your car and avoid paying for parking is now a reason for initiating disciplining action.

Can't

11. Col uncovers a chemical dumping conspiracy at a childcare centre? Probably not:

Snapped today at the local daycare centre.

12. JayCroix brings us a texbook shot:

Spotted this in Phillip during the week

13.An anonymous Rioter has been keeping an eye on UC for us:

Hi, here’s some parking excellence from a few weeks ago. At the Hub at Uni of Canberra.

So

14. Tootza sent in a fine selection of lunch-meats (by lunch-meats I mean parking photos and I think I’m hungy):

Weston Creek last week.

Don't

Woden tonight – sorry for the dodgy pic but yes they are on the kerb.

Mistake

Canberra Hospital last week.

@ Amie from #7

You actually use the footpath? From all the moaning we hear about how poor the condition of our footpaths is, which is the reason cyclists use the road I don’t know how you could use a pram on them. They’re apparently all cracked and unusable! Perhaps you could lobby for an on-road pram lane….?

#7 is begging to be keyed.

That’s probably illegal.

On the other hand, squeezing your pram through the very small amount of space allowed by the selfish parker would almost certainly result in unfortunate, unintended, and unavoidable damage to the car’s paintwork.

I spotted the Canberra Hospital one too (was there visitng my poor ol’ dad). When we arrived there was a second car alongside it parked at an equally atrocious angle.

.. or clamp all your own wheels first, so there’s nothing left to clamp!

Or remove the wheels from your car some they have nothing to clamp?

Another week and still my car has not been featured. What is wrong with you people?

I’m doing everything I can.

Sometimes I want to send in pictures of my own parking, but that would take the fun out of it.

😀

What does “spotto” mean?

(I also have no problem with police bending the parking rules if it helps them police.)

Spotto is a game the kids play where they try to be first to call a yellow car.

Forget the parking though – in #9 that whole building is going over!

Spotto means:

Gosh! I see yellow. In a strictly vehicular sense.

It’s a kiddies game, first to call “spotto” on a yellow car wins.

1. & 2. – There was this horrible, drooling, nightmare Jabberwocky monster, and it was chasing the little girl, and I said “get away from her, you bitch”, and then there was this strange, bursting feeling in my chest, and that’s all I remember – truly, officer.
