Kambah burglary deterred by good security

ACT Policing is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the offenders in this footage obtained from a residential burglary in Kambah last week (Wednesday, November 23).

About 2.40pm, two males are seen to enter the front yard of the home, with one going to the front door and the other to the side of the home. The first offender, after knocking at the front door and getting no response, follows the second around the side of the house. Shortly after, a third male offender enters the front yard and follows the first two.

Forcible entry was made to the house however, no property was stolen. It appears that the would-be intruders were deterred by the activation of the house’s audible alarm.

If you can identify any of the males pictured in the footage or can assist police with their investigation, please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

but the camera is perhaps too far up, meaning its usefulness appears to now be limited-when actually needed….

Peep-hole cameras are a much better idea. They have a wide FOV but place the subject’s mug right in the centre of the frame, and are very inconspicuous.

What happens if you press the “Enhance” button?

If you zoom in on the pole, and enhance the reflection of the back of his tee shirt….

Hahaha! 🙂
Seriously though, it’s awesome to have a good security system like that, but the camera is perhaps too far up, meaning its usefulness appears to now be limited-when actually needed….

Hope they catch them though.

Is there more than one? On the ACT policing site that is the only picture, so slightly confused with the any of the males wording. Or is it a spot the offender game?

You are appealing to the public with THAT crappy image of only one offender? I’ve seen better photographs of the Loch Ness Monster.

We deter burglars by having a crappy-looking house :-\
