Kambah house torches up

ACT Fire & Rescue on scene at a house fire on Mackay Crescent, Kambah.

House well alight.

12:54pm Monday 16 July 2012

ACT Fire & Rescue has conducted a search of the three bedroom house to find no persons inside.

Crews are continuing to extinguish the fire with mopping up operations.

Three fire pumpers, the Breathing Apparatus Van, Hazardous Materials Unit and a command officer on scene.

House has sustained extensive damage.
No damage to neighbouring properties.

Multiple Emergency Triple Zero (000) calls received from 12.39pm.

ACT Ambulance Service also on scene supporting operations with no injuries reported.

ACT Fire & Rescue has fully extinguished the fire.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are underway.

1:45pm Monday 16 July 2012

ACT Fire & Rescue continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.

Early indications show the cause to be clothes left next to a heater in a lounge room.

Estimated damage $300,000.

3:50pm Monday 16 July 2012

ACT Fire & Rescue have now departed the scene of the fire damaged home.

Investigations into the incident will be concluded by ACT Policing.
