The ACT Government today urged members of the public to be vigilant in reporting any acts of vandalism in our reserves and open spaces after both the toilets at Kambah Pool recreation area were set alight on the weekend.
“Unfortunately this vandalism took place one night before the gates to Kambah Pool recreation area were closed in an effort to reduce this sort of anti-social behaviour at the recreation area,” said Tim Chaseling, Area Manager, ACT Parks and Conservation Service.
“The toilets were set alight meaning they will both need to be repaired. It unfortunately means the toilet block will be out of action for at least a week and we have to divert resources away from other tasks.”

ACT Policing will continue to patrol and monitor activity in the area. Witnesses who wish to report any suspicious or illegal activity in the area can continue to do so by contacting Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report via the website at act.crimestoppers.com.au
They view this as vindication of the night closures of these areas.
