Press release written by someone moonlighting from the ACT government, or perhaps the local cops.

A few obvious howlers:

‘premiere’ should be ‘premier’. There is a significant difference.

‘fashionista’s’ – the author must be one of the people who writes the cards in the greengrocers that sell ‘banana’s.

On the other hand, ‘Mens Racewear’ (sic) needs an apostrophe.

Pensioners are not “aged’, like beef or wine. Either they are “Age Pensioners” or other kinds of pensioners.

There are more errors, but you get the drift.

I’m guessing that this was written by Tiffany, 20 something, who has a ‘degree’ in communications. She has a great sense of humour, is up with all the latest fashion trends, and considers herself to be environmentally aware.

I’m not criticising the event, at all. It sounds like fun, and I hope that lots of people go along. But it is a constant source of amazement that people who don’t have a grasp of the basics of grammar get paid to put out press releases.
