Chief Minister Gallagher is thanking the volunteers and workers who worked through the recent flooding:
The Chief Minister and Mr Corbell officially thanked workers and volunteers at a special reception at the Legislative Assembly today.
“Our ESA workers, ACT Government staff and volunteers worked tirelessly throughout the flood event to help hundreds of residents in need, and for this I pass on the government’s sincerest thanks for a job well done,” the Chief Minister said.
“Almost a thousand calls for help over a number of days were responded to by our workers and volunteers; with TAMS receiving over 630 reports of localised flooding and stormwater that caused numerous road closures, damage to infrastructure and landslides on some rural roads.
