Labor’s recent tactic of announcing very little to tackle very big problems has taken a new turn:

A re-elected, ACT Labor will take more action on smoking by increasing the number of smoke-free public places and provide $800,000 in funding for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander smoking cessation programs.

New services will be provided for people affected by alcohol with $1.4 million to establish an alcohol and drug outpatient service.

Blow up the pokies!!!!

Having given this issue some thought, I reject my previous view that they should be blown up. I now believe they should be muted – I really believe that if the machines were completely silent, a lot less people would play them.

Blow up the pokies!!!!

I used to think people were funny but now I think they’re just stupid.

If you really think that encouraging people to stop smoking is an ‘utter embarrassment’ please, take your ilk and don’t come back

Encouraging people to stop smoking in ‘smoke-free public places’, you mean. I’m yet to see any evidence that this actually reduces the number of people smoking cigarettes. It may encourage them to smoke one less cigarette less, though they probably make up for that as they walk to their cars after visiting a smoke-free event/place.

Don’t let the door bang you on the arse on your way out pal.

I just hope you aren’t heading for Russia, China, North Korea, anywhere in the Balkans, Portugal, Ireland, Italy Greece, Spain, Anywhere in the Middle East, Anywhere in Central America, Most of Latin America, Anywhere in Africa, Afghanistan, Pakistan in fact any place ending in “stan”, Cambodia, Laos, Burma I could go on an on…

Yes, we do have to put up with Katy and Zed, but that’s not nearly as bad as putting up with corrupt officials who will arrest and execute you to harvest your organs for a profit, or religious nutters who will execute you because you pray to a different version of the same god, or drug lords who will execute you just because they’re feeling a little frisky etc etc

Anyway, wherever you go, there you will be.

It seems hypocritical to be funding programs to limit or stop use of legal drugs which are freely sold and marketed to the public, while being the source of large amounts of tax dollars enabling the government to govern.

I don’t smoke but I do find it laughable that there are smoke-free outdoor spaces right next to roads where the pollution from motor vehicles is certainly not banned.

Haha true. Not to mention that labour gets huge amounts of income via destroying family’s just as much as alcohol does via poker machines.

Everyone wins

“A re-elected, ACT Labor will take more action on smoking by increasing the number of smoke-free public places and provide $800,000 in funding for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander smoking cessation programs.”

So I take that’s because for some bizarre reason this group of people have some how been living under a rock for the last few decades and have absolutely no idea that smoking is bad for their health.

Are you being deported?

I don’t drink or smoke so does not affect me, but Katy’s policies seem to be seriously lacking in depth and substance. And they are getting worse every week.

So it’s understandable some Aussie’s may elicit such an opinion, case in point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liSJ0kpm-7M

But I wouldn’t presume going overseas will necessarily provide an escape:
