Katy's strange neurosurgery announcement

Now here’s an odd little story.

This morning the Health Minister Katy Gallagher announced that she’d awarded a tender for the Neurosurgery Suite at Canberra Hospital to a mob called IMRIS.

Viewing tender announcements as pretty low grade news we ignored it here, but other outlets joined in the chorus of hosannas that major progress was being made in completing the Neurosurgery Suite.

But someone in the Liberals had their eye on the ball this one and now Jeremy Hanson has unkindly pointed out that the IMRIS mob were announcing their win back on January 6.

So did it get lost on Katy’s desk? Hidden until she was feeling some heat on other issues? Or perhaps have we hired a mob so good they can see two months into the future?

Is this the same MRI stuff that was in the local paper some weeks back?

Thumper, of course it won’t be her fault – and if anyone says it is, then they are all sexist bastards!

She’s only a part-time minster – she didn’t have time to get the press release out until now!

I can’t wait until her first budget: that’s bound to be a doozie……

she is a poor single mother and therefore does not need to worry about anouncing things to the public and anyone who says different is a sexist.

What, no lobotomy jokes yet?!

A brain is a prerequisite before you are actually able to undergo a lobotomy.

In that case, Katy Gallagher will never be able to have a lobotomy 🙂
