The NCA has the intriguing news for photographers that they’re going to be lighting up the Kings Avenue Overpass in shades of red white and blue for Her Majesty’s visit:
The Kings Avenue overpass will be lit red, white and blue to welcome Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh to the National Capital.
National Capital Authority chief executive, Gary Rake said the overpass will be illuminated in the evenings, from Wednesday 19 October to Tuesday 25 October.
“The balustrade rails on the overpass will be coloured for one week, beginning the first day of the royal visit,” said Mr Rake.
“Hundreds of LED lights will transform the overpass in stripes of red, white and blue.
“The Kings Avenue overpass was designed to act as a gateway to Canberra. This is the first time the coloured lights have been used for an official visit,” he said.
The LED lighting is programmable and can incorporate a number of colours.
