Kudos Taste!

Has anyone been to this little Japanese cafe in the building next to Wig and Pen? After living in Japan for six months I found myself really missing casual, home-style Japanese food… but luckily you can get it here! They even do Japanese breakfast (7.30-11.30) with natto and free range eggs, hallelujah!

I’m not sure if he still does this but the owner will also sell you things like chicken cutlet by itself which is another thing I miss- then you can take it home and have it with hot rice for dinner. The best.

[ED – well, I’ve been there and rather liked it.]

Thanks for this. Have to check it out.

I tried this place out today.

I did a benchmark oyako don test and it faired well. Probably a bit smaller than would have liked (mind you, I did get takeaway). Still, it was filling and very tasty. Worth the $8 imo.

I agree that it is very casual, home-style cooking which is nice. Will definitely visit again to try the udon/soba dishes. Also, ‘kudos’ to the owner for setting up shop in this arcade which has long been a bit of a retail graveyard.

i’ve had lunch there a few times. the owner is very sweet.

in general i found that the portions are fairly small for the price, but that’s probably because i’m comparing with other places in and around town.
