NSW Police have the humorous news that the Rebels’ hogs are so underpowered they’re learner legal:
Three members of the Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang have had their licences suspended and a fourth received an infringement notice for speeding offences at Goulburn.
About 5.45pm yesterday (Thursday 22 November 2012), police from Goulburn Highway Patrol were performing stationary speed enforcement on the Federal Highway at Yarra, when they detected four motorcycles riding at high speeds.
Police stopped the four men a short time later on the Hume Highway.
Three of the men, aged 25, 21 and 19, were issued penalty notices for exceed speed limit – over 45km/h for travelling at 131km/h in a 110km/h zone. The three riders held an ACT Learners licence which restricts their speed to 80km/h on the Federal and Hume Highway.
Police seized the 21-year-olds motorcycle
The fourth man, aged 50, was issued with a penalty notice for exceed speed limit – over 10km/h.
All four men are from the ACT.
