Team Katy (Most likely Andrew Barr) has let it be known that if returned for a fourth term they would spend some more money at Lyneham:

If re-elected in 2012 ACT Labor will build the next stage of the Lyneham precinct upgrade project with a $5 million boost in funding to provide community amenities such as a pavilion, BBQ area, change rooms, picnic areas and canteen facilities, as well as community recreation space

As a Southsider, it seems strange to me that this project rates higher than continuing Ginninderra Drive straight through to Northbourne.

What is mere transport compared to a pavilion? It could be as modest and appropriate to the climate as this:

I’d go for that if they’d spend at least some of the dough to fix the lighting so that it doesn’t spill and to bulldoze the advertising hoardings.

Is this the first time anyone has mentioned the inner north?

Perhaps Labor polling is showing a huge drift to the Greens.

The light rail was a $600 million pander to the inner north.

Four Labor seats in Molonglo and it’s game over. Expect to see some pork.

Oh yes, I forgot the light rail…Silly me. Perhaps $600 million is too hard to understand, whereas a pavilion? That’s cool.

Hats and cucumber sandwiches…David Gower magically transformed to twenty-five and having a day where he feels like batting…He hits a perfect cover drive which rolls out towards the asbestos end…Champagne…

If that’s not a vision of (Anglican) heaven, I’m Dennis Lillee.

An extra $5 million for a project they have already started and were supposed to finish? Good to see budget overspends now becoming policy..
