Labor promises a sports hub across the road from the Institute of Sport

If UC can get a hospital across the road from Calvary Hospital why not build a “Sports Hub” across the same road from the Australian Institute of Sport?

I mean having sold off their HQ for apartments the Brumbies will need somewhere to train right?

A re-elected ACT Labor Government will contribute $5 million to work with UC and ACTSport to establish community sport at the UC Sports Hub.

I actually got excited when I read the headline because I thought Labor were promising a large, multi-sport venue for the public to access and use. I personally would love to see something like this, with facilities for indoor and outdoor sports that can be used by anybody.

Instead I see it’s basically a deal with the UC and Brumbies, dressed up to look like something for the people of Canberra. Disappointed.

Good to have you back JB! There’s been plenty of venom in your posts today so the break seems to have done you wonders! 🙂
But I wonder about Calvary University?

Thanks for the catch

Well wow,

Looks like it’s another done deal that they are letting everyone know during the caretaker period.
Summernats last week and this week the Brumbies.

They don’t really care about the rules

And you really don’t care about facts, the summernats announcement was made by summernats as it was their decision to stay in the ACT, and this is a policy announcement.

…and wasn’t it convenient that summernats chose to announce it during a campaign.
just like it is convenient that the Brumbies are joining forces with Katy and TAMS changed their minds on the parking increase and how we are promising millions everywhere while being told we have never had it so good.

I think most people are just over the bulls*** (from all politicians)

So having stood with Labor at a key point in the election what odds the Brumbies getting their development application called in over the objections of the local residents?

If you’re thinking “but they hardly mention the brumbies” you need to read the brumbies announcement

Pretty dangerous to be staking themselves to one party’s election promise.
