If you’re heading to Mt Ainslie, please take a camera.

There is a huge ladybird invasion up there.

Haha very clever; how large are these Ladybirds? I live in Ainslie, and would love to be able to spot a few.

pffffffffft! we went up there, 3 year old very excited about seeing the ladybugs and nothing. dead ones everywhere, but no live ones.

Didn’t someone recently post a pic as an “Image of Canberra” of a large cluster of lady bugs !??? I remember it looking really cool.

Maybe ED can put the pic up again… I’m quite computer illiterate.

Ah ha! I have been delighted to find quite a few of these around lately, I’ve been catching them and putting them on the chilis, which are coated in aphids. Aphids seem much worse this year, so maybe teh ladybug explosion is in reaction to this?

There’s definitely more than usual around. But they’re a very useful and benign insect.

always is this time of year – fantastic! and they eat the aphids, so take them home to your gardens… ; )

Oh wow they are everywhere. My backyard was ful of them and i was doing a job in civic near the casino and there were huge clumps of them all over the plants and buildings. I never seen them clump together like that5 before, only ever seen them in ones.
