ACT Policing has located the body of a 56-year-old Wanniassa man after he was seen falling from his windsurfer on Sunday afternoon (22 December).

The man was located at around 3.40pm today, after an extensive search operation was coordinated by the AFP Search and Rescue team, utilising resources from the Water Police, police divers and the ACT State Emergency Service.

At this time police will not be releasing the man’s name.

At this stage there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report is currently being prepared for the coroner.

ACT Policing would like to thank local residents for their patience and understanding during the search operation.

No ones ever the same after a swim in our ‘lakes’.
One would assume that the name isn’t released because the family haven’t been told?
You’d have to applaud the guy for being an awesome windsurfer at 56.
