Lamb curry at the H20 cafe. Restaurant Review

lamb curry

H20 Cafe nestles around the corner from Tonic in the Bus Interchange.

The menu has a lot of vaguely italian cafe fare on it as is standard for milking office drones.

But the owners have some nods to their Sri Lankan heritage on the menu and that was what had attracted me.

And so for just south of $15 I got stuck into the lamb curry with the works.

(The curry was served in a separate dish before the purists get in a tizz).

The works consisted of rice, a salad, a pappadum, a small dried chilli which in the absence of guidance I sprinkled over the curry to good effect, and what I think was an eggplant chutney.

The salad had a lot of sweet elements like pear and orange segments. This worked really well with the spiciness of the curry.

The curry itself was tender and exotically spiced.

They also do $10 takeaway boxes which I’ll have to check out.

It’s a bit of a funny spot to go for a curry. But something different, and worth a go.

Thats quite a mound of curry for 15 bucks. Will definately call in

‘Tis a flock of curry, without a single lost sheep. How ‘people’ can eat that for lunch is beyond me.

Ignore my last post, I thought the review was for H20 at Belconnen Soccer Club which also has a Sri Lankan influence. Next time I’ll pay more attention.

You can’t get a bad meal there. Can’t help but feel the chefs talents are wasted at a poohole like the BSC.

Cool glasses (-: Did you steal them?
