The contractor on this project should take a bow. Probably the best finished, smoothest bit of road in the ACT.

I drove on the new completed road for the first time today Pete and noticed two issues/things – one positive absolutely and one negative.

Driving to QBN took note at the last minute of the cyclist ‘testing’ out the new narrow bike lane [hurray for the inclusion] and on the way home noted a bend? slightly in the road a little unexpected that if miss-judged, particularly by someone young travelling of a night for the first few times, will result in an unpleasant landing in a deep ditch semi gully.

Given a difficult section of road and bridge in the first place, they have done a terrific job with the roadworks and I for one am relieved its open and reduced the risks of hitting cyclists over the old bridge.

The ‘pulling over bay’ is of course for the NSW vehicle inspectors to do their level best to ping every heavy vehicle exiting NSW.

They make a fortune.
