While it is lovely that the Lanyon Drive duplication has finally finished, I wonder what Jerrabomberra residents think of it?
Because Lanyon Drive westbound has two lanes entering the roundabout and two lanes exiting it, it looks to me like it remains just as difficult for Jerraresidents to get onto Lanyon Drive westbound as it was before the upgrade. I thought they were building a slip lane for the Jerraresidents, but it never materialised and it looks like it never will. What looked like it was going to be a slip lane is actually some kind of pulling over bay, purpose unknown.
And it didn’t even get Steve Whan re-elected.
And while I’m ranting – I wonder does any number cruncher in government ever do a cost-benefit analysis of these kinds of improvements? For months or years the roadworks caused traffic delays and increased pollution, for a very small long-term gain in travel times. What is the payback period, to offset all the extra delays during the works???
