Curtin Graff

The above sent in by “the cat did it” (click for larger), with the following note:

This large stencil item appeared recently under the Carruthers St Overpass(where Carruthers St crosses Yarralumla Creek). The body being covered appears to be a Roman Catholic Pope- it’s got the requisite hat and crozier. ‘scuse picture quality- image taken with phone camera from the other side of the Yarralumla Creek culvert.

You mean Callam Offices.

I’m not sure why anyone spells it any different.

I guess I haven’t seen it written in quite a while, and was not entirely sure how it was pronounced. And didn’t really care.

What about some of the stuff in the storm water channel underneath/near “Battlestar Galactica” in Woden? IIRC there was some top stuff down there.

You mean Callum Offices? It is seriously something designed by a sci-fi fan.

It was acutally designed by John Andrews – no idea if he was a sci-fi fan. The original plan was however to have 22 of those pod like structures up and down Callam St, all linked up by walkways.

Another interesting fact – the offices actually ‘hang’ from that steel structure above them. It takes the weight of the building, not the foundations.
But yeah, ugly building.

As you were people…

I forgot to say, not sure that the cop is doing to the pope, but I do like the stencil in the OP.

While there is some pretty awesome graffiti art (or just graffiti, depending on opinion) in that channel you speak of, I have actually seen little stencil art, and that has primarily been small “icon” type stuff, such as

disk

Tintin

trapdoor

and (not in woden),

TV?
